Wood-fired pizza trailer joins Rochester's food truck movement
Owned and operated by Derrick Chapman, Twisted Barrel will open for business Friday in front of Kinney Creek Brewery from 5 - 10 p.m. The initial plan, according to Chapman, is to serve piping hot pizzas on the weekends at local breweries that currently don’t serve food, as well as set up at various public and private events throughout the community.
The initial menu includes your typical cheese, sausage, and pepperoni pizzas, as well as a margarita, carnivore (bacon, sausage, and pepperoni), and twisted sausage (sausage, wild mushrooms, and pepperoncinis.
The most requested menu item, however, is Kathy’s Arcadian, a pizza named after the trailer’s most generous Kickstarter backer’s late mother. Kathy’s is topped with artichokes, roasted tomatoes, and wild mushrooms.
Twisted Barrel joins the fast growing food truck/trailer movement in Rochester, which includes the likes of Mac’s, El Carambas, Taco Moreno, Lucy’s Tacos, El Sueno, BB’s Pizzaria, and others.
