Teen arrested for threatening peers with BB gun
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A 13-year-old boy is being held at Many Rivers Juvenile Detention Center in Rochester after threatening other students with a BB gun.
Police Captain John Sherwin told the Post-Bulletin the incident began after school on Monday when the student confronted three other boys near the soccer fields at Kellogg Middle School. When he pulled out the BB gun, the group of boys mistook it for a semi-automatic handgun.
KTTC reports investigators later found the gun at the 13-year-old students's home. Police said the bright orange tip of the BB gun was removed to make it appear like a real gun.
The student is facing a felony level charge of second-degree assault.
