A 37-year-old woman told police Sunday night that a man came to her home and demanded money. She was not injured.

The incident was reported around 11 p.m. in the 5900 block Shetland Drive NW. The woman said someone knocked on her door; when she opened the door, a man pushed his way in saying, "I know you have the money."

The suspect said he had a knife. However, the woman could not confirm whether he was holding a weapon, according to the police report.

The woman gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and he took off. He was not in the house for more than 30 seconds, notes the report.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5'8" to 5'9", 160 pounds. He was either in his 20s or 30s, and was last seen wearing a hooded gray sweatshirt and black sweatpants.

The woman said she did not know the suspect.
