Here's a look at which businesses are extending off-sale liquor hours
A new ordinance extending off-sale liquor hours for Rochester businesses went into effect on Friday, according to the city clerk's office.
The new rules — which were first adopted by the city council last week — allow liquor stores and breweries to sell alcohol Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m (only breweries can sell growlers and crowlers on Sunday).
Businesses, however, are not required to extend their hours, evidenced by a number of liquor stores deciding to keep their original hours. The former ordinance prohibited off-sale liquor purchases after 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 p.m. on Friday.
