New blog aims to be the go-to resource for Rochester parents
Want to know the most kid-friendly restaurants in Rochester? Or where in town you can take your child for an outdoor adventure that is fun and educational?
Well, you're in luck. On Wednesday, local entrepreneur Becky Montpetit will launch the Rochester MN Moms Blog, a parenting resource website tailored for our community. The Rochester site will join a network of more than 40 "mom blogs" across the country.
"This will really be a collaborative blog," Montpetit told me in a recent interview. "It will offer different perspectives, resources and guides specifically for local parents."
The blog has a group of 16 volunteer writers who will be contributing new content to the site. Monpetit said they range from stay-at-home moms to business owners; formula users to breastfeeding proponents; consumers of cloth diapers and disposable ones.
"We are all invested in the community," she told me. "The one common theme through all of us is we strive to make Rochester a fantastic place to raise a family."
Despite the fact that all of the writers are women, most of the content produced on the site will be geared toward either parent. Montpetit said she hopes to add a male writer or two within the next couple of months.
The Med City Beat is excited to be partnering with the Rochester MN Moms Blog. You can expect to see us occasionally sharing each other's content once the site launches.
