Synthetic drug bust
Local authorities seized close to 2 pounds of synthetic marijuana from an apartment near downtown Rochester on Monday.
The search warrant was conducted at 317 4th Ave. NW following a weeks-long narcotics investigation. Inside the apartment, officers found 96.6 grams of cocaine, 782 grams of synthetic marijuana and $24,830 in cash.
Authorities also confiscated two vehicles used in undercover drug buys, according to a report from the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.
Laura Cerda, 24, was arrested in connection to the bust. She faces felony charges for 1st-degree sales and possession of a narcotic, plus another felony for sales of a synthetic cannabinoid.
A second individual was also taken into custody as a potential suspect, says the report. Authorities are now searching for a third individual.
Police are looking for a suspect following a stabbing Monday night.
Officers were called to the 10 block of 8th Street NE, just west of Silver Lake Park, around 7:30 p.m. to a report that a man had been stabbed following a dispute over money.
The victim, a 26-year-old from Lake City, told police that the suspect stabbed him in the upper leg with a kitchen knife. He was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released with minor injuries.
The suspect fled the scene in what was believed to be a white Cadillac. The suspect is described as a Somali male in his early 30s, who is balding on top with hair sticking out from both sides. He was last seen wearing brown or tan corduroy pants and an orange sweatshirt.
Police say the argument was "narcotics related" and that the suspect and victim knew each other prior to the incident.
