Report: Rochester's three public high schools among the top 50 in Minnesota

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - All three of Rochester's public high schools received high marks in this year's report by the review website Niche.

Century, Mayo and John Marshall high schools all finished among the top 50 in Minnesota. None of the schools scored lower than a "B-" on any of the criteria, including key areas like student achievement and teacher quality.

A few cities in the Rochester area cracked the top 100, including Pine Island, Dover-Eyota and Byron. The top 10 high schools were all located in the Twin Cities metro area.

Niche also ranked the top private schools in Minnesota. Lourdes High School outperformed Schaeffer Academy in both academics and diversity. Other factors used for public high schools were not considered.

The Rochester Public School District was ranked the 14th best out of more than 200 districts across the state. The district has more than 16,000 students in 38 schools.
