Body pulled from the Mississippi River in La Crosse (updated)

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Investigators have identified the body pulled from the Mississippi River in downtown La Crosse Friday morning as Joshua Xiong, 27, of Onalaska.

Emergency officials first received a report of a possible body in the river around 8 a.m., according to WXOX-TV in La Crosse. Several crews responded to the scene, including a dive rescue team.

The La Crosse Tribune reports crews searched the icy water and pulled a body out about half an hour later.

WKBT-TV in La Crosse reports Xiong went missing on Nov. 9 while fishing alone in his boat. 

An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday morning.
