Authorities: Two suspects held up driver with a gun, took off with vehicle

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Authorities in Olmsted County are looking for two suspects who allegedly stole a vehicle early Thursday morning by threatening the driver with a gun.

The incident happened just after 3 a.m. in the 5000 block of 48th Street NE in the Township of Haverhill. A 20-year-old man was driving down the road when the suspects blocked the street and ordered him to get out, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Department.

Fearing for his life, the driver cooperated, authorities said. The two suspects then took off in the vehicle. The victim was not injured in the incident.

The car was found about 45 minutes later in northwest Rochester. Authorities are not releasing the specific location while the investigation is active.

The sheriff's department has released the following descriptions of the suspects:

  • White male, 6', skinny, 23-25 years old, goatee/beard
  • Black male, 5'4", skinny, 20-21 years old, wearing a navy blue hat

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
