Seven rollovers reported Tuesday morning in SE Minnesota
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - More than dozen crashes were reported Tuesday morning in southeast Minnesota.
Three of the crashes resulted in injuries, including one around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 52 and 37th Street NW in Rochester. One person involved in the crash suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
A total of 15 property damage crashes, including seven rollovers, were reported throughout the region Tuesday. One person was seriously hurt in a crash on I-35 in Owatonna.
While the wintry mix of sleet and snow has moved east, dangerous travel conditions are still expected for the evening drive home.
The combination of the fresh snow and increased winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour will cause blowing snow throughout the night, according to the National Weather Service.
Then a blast of cool air will move into the area, dropping wind chills down to 15-30 below each of the next two mornings.
But at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel: daytime highs could reach 40 degrees by the start of next week.
