Armed robbery reported at Holiday gas station in NW Rochester

Armed robbery reported at Holiday gas station in NW Rochester

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Police are searching for a suspect following an armed robbery early Tuesday morning in northwest Rochester.

The incident happened around 2:45 a.m. at the Holiday gas station on 37th Street NW. According to police, a man entered the store dressed in all black and displayed a handgun.

The suspect then pinned one of the store's two employees up against the wall and pressed the tip of the gun against the clerk's cheek, police said. The clerk was able to escape the suspect's grip and locked himself in a back room.

That's when the suspect began to threaten the second employee, who was stocking shelves at the time. He forced the employee to walk across the store and open the cash register, police said.

The suspect left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and some flavored cigars. Attempts to locate him using K-9s were unsuccessful.

Store employees described the suspect as a black male, about 6'4", with a thin build. Surveillance video does not provide any additional insight.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
