Police: Multiple shots fired at vehicle in NW Rochester

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Multiple shots were fired at a vehicle in northwest Rochester late Monday night.

Officers responded to the 1900 block of 19th Ave NW around midnight to several reports of gunshots in the area.

The victims told police said they were driving through the area when a vehicle began to follow them. They became nervous and accelerated in an attempt to lose the vehicle.

That's when someone in the trailing vehicle fired multiple shots at the victims' car. One of the bullets struck the vehicle but missed the five occupants inside, authorities said.

A witness was standing in front of his home when he heard the shots go off. He then got in his car and began to follow the two vehicles. Soon after, the suspects' vehicle turned away and ended its pursuit.

The suspects' car is described as a dark blue or black foreign vehicle with blue tinted headlights. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
