Man arrested following stabbing outside Top Shots Bar in Rochester
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A man was stabbed early Friday morning outside Top Shots Bar in downtown Rochester.
Police responded to the bar around 1:40 a.m. to a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the sidewalk with a stab wound in his upper chest.
The victim, 40, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a collapsed lung.
A witness was able to give a detailed description of the suspect, who fled the scene right after the stabbing. Police located a man matching the description a short time later in the 1100 Block of Third Avenue SE.
The witness testified that the man was the accused attacker. Police have identified the suspect as 27-year-old Abdullahi Ali.
Ali faces a charge of 1st-degree assault.
