Here are the names of Rochester's two new police dogs

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Kola and Riot: those are the two names of the Rochester Police Department's two newest K-9s.

More than 1,600 people participated in an online poll to choose the names of the dogs. The results were posted Monday to the Olmsted-Rochester Law Enforcement K-9 Foundation's Facebook page.

Riot, on the left with Officer Blazejak, was selected over: 

  • Vegas 
  • Titus 
  • Beau

Kola, on the right with Officer Red Hill, was selected over:

  • Khaos
  • Tanka
  • Castor

The initial two groups of names were selected by the families of the K-9 trainers.
