Two high-priced bikes reported stolen from Slatterly Park in SE Rochester

(THE MED CITY BEAT) -  A pair of high-priced bicycles were stolen Tuesday night from Slatterly Park in southeast Rochester.

Police said two men rode their bicycles to the park to play disc golf; they tied the bikes to a sign post using a cable lock; but when they returned a couple hours later, the lock was cut and the bikes were gone.

The theft happened sometime between 6:30 and 9 p.m.

Police described the bikes as a 2015 "Giant Advanced Pro 1" ($3,000 value) — which could be a wide range of models — and a 2015 "Santa Cruz 5010 mountain bike" ($4,000 value).

Last weekend, a $7,000 bicycle was reported stolen from a garage in northwest Rochester. The burglar also got away with $1,000 in tools.

Anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Rochester & Olmsted County at 1-800-222-TIPS. You can remain anonymous.
