Two seriously injured following a pair of stabbings in Rochester
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Two people were treated for life-threatening injuries following a pair of unrelated stabbings in Rochester Thursday evening.
The first incident happened just before 4:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Center Street. When officers arrived, they found a 29-year-old man on the ground suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body and chest.
The victim was immediately transported to St. Marys Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance and rushed into surgery, police said. As of Friday morning, the victim remains in critical condition.
Police later arrested a 16-year-old male in connection to the incident. Authorities said a domestic altercation between the victim, a 21-year-old woman and the suspect preceded the stabbing
The teen has since been released from police custody.
Officers were notified of a second incident around 6:50 p.m. that same night. A 40-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his chest and upper body was dropped off at emergency room at St. Marys.
The victim was rushed into surgery, and as of Friday morning remains in "very critical condition." The vehicle fled the area immediately after dropping the victim off, police said.
Police later arrested Thane Robinson, 22, as a suspect in the case. He faces felony charges of assault and attempted murder.
