Man arrested following shooting in downtown Rochester

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A man was hospitalized Friday night following a shooting in downtown Rochester.

Police responded to the 100 block of East Center Street around 10:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire. Officers found shell casings on the sidewalk and bullet holes in two rooms at the nearby Center Street Hotel. 

 
 

The victim, a 36-year-old man, was taken to St. Marys Hospital with a bullet wound to his leg. He has since been treated and released.

Police later located the suspected shooter, a 35-year-old man, in the 100 block of Second Street SE. The victim, who knew the suspect before the shooting, was able to make a positive identification.

More information is expected to be released Monday morning.
