Semi carrying junk cars overturns on Highway 63 in south Rochester

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A semi trailer carrying crushed vehicles overturned Monday afternoon on a busy stretch of highway in south Rochester.

The crash was reported around 3 p.m. on Highway 63 (South Broadway) near the intersection with Highway 52. No injuries were reported.

 
 

The Minnesota Department of Transportation advised motorists to find alternate routes Monday evening. It was expected to take several hours to remove all of the wreckage and debris.

 
 

MnDOT will announce the re-opening of the highway via the MnDOT District 6 Twitter feed. You can also monitor the scene with MnDot's traffic camera.

The section of Highway 63 where the crash occurred is currently undergoing a $4.1 million repaving project.
