Eau Claire easily defeats Rochester in the 'Best Towns' tournament
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Is life really better on the east side of the Mississippi?
Eau Claire has just defeated Rochester by a 22-percent margin in the Sweet 16 round of Outside Magazine's 2015 "Best Towns" tournament. Voting ended Monday at midnight. More than 10,000 votes were cast.
Eau Claire moves on to face Spearfish, S.D. for the Midwest title. Ely, the only other Minnesota town put on the list, was knocked out in the first round of the tournament.
Here's a look at the six other cities still alive:
- Port Angeles, Wash.
- Flagstaff, Ariz.
- Bar Harbor, Maine
- Middlebury, Vt.
- Chattanooga, Tenn
- Boone, N.C.
A champion will be announced on June 5.
