City holding three public workshops this week on the comprehensive plan

City holding three public workshops this week on the comprehensive plan

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - The public will have three chances this week to give input on the development of the comprehensive plan.

The Rochester-Olmsted County Planning Department will host a series of workshops on the plan on Wednesday and Thursday:

  • Wed. 6:30 p.m. Olmsted County Public Health (2100 Campus View Dr. SE)
  • Thurs. 3 p.m. Council/Board Chambers
  • Thurs. 6:30 p.m. Council/Board Chambers

The department will update the public on the development of the comprehensive plan, the department said in a news release. Participants will also be engaged in a series of discussions to help formulate a community vision statement.

The city's comprehensive plan, or "Planning 2 Succeed," will complement the Destination Medical Center development plan, which recently entered its implementation phase.

However, P2P will focus more on the types of infrastructure investments needed to assist future development outside DMC boundaries.

The department hopes to send a comprehensive plan to the city council this fall. It will be the first update to the plan in four decades.

If you can't make any of the three community workshops, the department is collecting feedback via an application on the website CrowdGauge
