(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A group of a dozen local artists have come together to create a new contemporary art cooperative in Rochester.

Gallery 24 will be located in the new Forager Brewery/Kutzky Market, which is set to open this summer in the former Good Food Store building.

"Our mission is to bring Rochester an authentic contemporary gallery experience while giving serious local artists a professional venue to exhibit their work," said local artist Cassandra Buck.

The organization plans to display new artwork each month at an exhibition space inside the brewery. Local artists will also have a space in the market to sell their jewelry, photos and paintings.

Gallery 24 eventually hopes to acquire its own space. In the meantime, the artists are offering up their talents to other businesses and organizations interested in displaying local artwork.
