Rochester teen arrested for assaulting three people near Quarry Hill
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A 17-year-old Rochester male was arrested Tuesday night following an assault near the baseball fields by Quarry Hill.
According to a police report, the teen showed up at the park around 7 p.m. and began cursing two 14-year-old boys riding their skateboards. He reportedly started to assault the victims when a group of adults ran over to intervene.
The teen punched one of the adults in the face, waved some type of weapon and fled the scene. Though the weapon was not recovered, witnesses described it as being either a knife or brass knuckles.
Police later found the teen at his home in the 800 block of 18th Avenue NE, not far from the ball fields. He faces charges of second-degree assault, fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Several baseball games were going on at the time of the incident. The two teen victims said they did not know why the suspect confronted them.
