Police: Man with 'violent history' led woman on chase through NW Rochester
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Local authorities are looking for a man who allegedly chased his ex-girlfriend through northwest Rochester, then assaulted her and one of her friends.
Police first learned of the incident Sunday around 11 a.m. when they received a report of a crash in the 1000 block of Essex Parkway NW. The vehicle being followed reportedly smashed into a median.
When officers arrived, the woman, 39, told them that her ex-boyfriend, 40, had been following her "all over" the northwest part of town. According to a police report, the woman fled her home when the suspect showed up uninvited.
After the crash, the ex-boyfriend allegedly got out of his car and assaulted the woman and her male passenger. A third person was also in the vehicle.
The ex-boyfriend, who police say has a "violent history," left the scene before police arrived. He was accompanied by one other man, notes the report.
Police are still searching for the suspects. Their identities are known, but have not been released to the public.
