Rochester police officer recognized as a DWI Enforcer All-Star

Officer Mitch Jenson of the Rochester Police Department has been named to the 2014 Minnesota DWI Enforcer All-Star Team.

Jenson was one of 39 law enforcement officers and prosecutors honored during the Twins pre-game festivities at Target Field on Jul 9. This was the second time that Jenson, a five-year veteran of the department and a retired Marine, has been recognized as a DWI All-Star.

He arrested 73 drunk drivers in Rochester last year, according to a news release.

Since 2006, DWI arrests have decreased from 42,016 to 25,258, according to the Minnesota Department of Safety. Alcohol-related traffic fatalities have also decreased by 21 percent.
