Police: Man assaulted by group after bar close in downtown Rochester

A man was beaten by a group of males just after bar close Saturday morning in downtown Rochester, police said Monday.

Officers responded to the 200 block of First Avenue SW, just south of The Loop bar and restaurant, around 2:50 a.m. to a report of a fight.

According to the police report, one cab driver stopped the fight while another attempted to follow the three suspects once they fled.

The victim, a 29-year-old man, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening head injuries.

Police located three individuals matching the descriptions of the suspects a short time later. Witnesses were able to positively identify two of the men; the third was released but could be charged pending further investigation.

Liban Abdullahi and Abdiaziz Dhore, both in their 20s from Rochester, face charges including 3rd-degree assault and 3rd-degree riot.
