Police: Woman took limousine to the Apache Mall to go shoplifting

A Moorhead woman is accused of taking a limousine to the Apache Mall, stealing hundreds of dollars in goods and then trying to take that same limo back to one of Rochester's swankiest hotels.

Karina Bourcy, 22, was arrested Monday night for shoplifting at Scheels, according to police.

Officers responded around 7:15 p.m. after the woman fled the store's security. She allegedly assaulted one of the security workers while breaking free.

While looking for the woman, police came across a limo driver waiting to pick someone up. The driver was able to confirm the description of the suspect matched that of the woman he had dropped off earlier.

The driver told police he had picked her up from the Kahler Grand Hotel.

Police waited for the driver to pick up Bourcy before taking her into custody. She faces charges of simple robbery and fleeing an officer.

Among the $300 in merchandise taken from the store: some bras and headbands.
