Police: Man threatened to kill ex-wife at the downtown mosque
A Rochester man is accused of threatening to kill his ex-wife after the couple was granted a divorce at the downtown mosque.
Police were called to Masjed Abubakar Siddiq, 17 N. Broadway Ave., Friday around 5:30 p.m.
Witnesses told officers that Hassan Farah, 35, fled the scene after making the threats. He was later located and arrested at Bear Creek Park.
Farah reportedly displayed a handgun during the incident at the mosque. Police are waiting to obtain a search warrant to try and locate the weapon.
Authorities say Farah objected to the divorce, saying his "life is over."
