Police: Teen was beaten and robbed at a SE Rochester park
Authorities say an 18-year-old man was assaulted by a group early Monday morning at Joyce Park in southeast Rochester.
The incident was reported to police around 2 a.m. The teen told police that he had gone for a walk in the park with an 18-year-old female.
When the two sat down at a bench, they were confronted by a group of three males. One of the suspects allegedly put a chain around the victim's neck while the others began punching and kicking him.
According to the police report, the suspects emptied the victim's pockets in search of money but only got away with a cell phone.
The woman fled the scene on foot. One of the suspects unsuccessfully chased after her, notes the report.
The victim was taken to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
