Fall fashion: STYLE on the Plaza returns to Rochester for 8th year

Fall fashion: STYLE on the Plaza returns to Rochester for 8th year

Local models will take to the catwalk in Peace Plaza this Thursday night for the Rochester Downtown Alliance’s eighth annual STYLE on the Plaza.

“Unlike fashion shows that you’ll see in New York and Chicago that go by specific categories, this will be more by store and each will showcase what they have for the upcoming season,” said fashion coordinator Lauren Smith.

The event puts downtown merchants — and the eclectic styles they offer — in the spotlight. This year's theme will celebrate the revolution and influence of 1920s' fashion.

“We’re going to have unique pieces for fall, many of which aren’t being shipped until after labor day so there will be really exclusive pieces that no one has seen yet in the stores,” Smith said.

In addition to models from 17 to 70 strutting down the runway, STYLE on the Plaza will also feature entertainment, and complimentary food and beverage for VIP attendees.

Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the event. General admission is $15, runway seating is $25, and VIP access in $60.
