Local man arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot multiple people

A Rochester man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening to shoot several people outside an apartment building in southeast Rochester.

The incident was reported around 5:15 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of 16th Street SE.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Corwin Thurman, initially tried to run away from officers was apprehended a short time later.

Thurman said he went to the apartment complex to confront a group of individuals who he believed stole his money the day before. He estimated the loss at $900.

Multiple witnesses said Thurman was in possession of a handgun. However, officers were unable to find the weapon. He faces a felony charge for making terroristic threats.
