Former Mayo High School principal arrested on suspicion of child porn

Timothy Dorway, a former Mayo High School principal, was arrested at his Carver County home Tuesday on suspicion of possessing child pornography.

The Pioneer Press reports agents with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension raided Dorway's home and his office at Chanhassen High School, where he has been employed as principal since 2010.

He was arrested and booked without incident.

Officials with East Carver County Schools said Tuesday that no students in the district are connected to the investigation, reports WCCO-TVThe 44-year-old has been put on leave by the school district; it will conduct its own inquiry.

"This is a difficult day for our students, parents and community," Superintendent Jim Bauck said in a statement. "There are questions that we want answers to and we're working with the BCA as they conduct an investigation to find those answers. Chanhassen High School staff was focused on their students and on dealing with this unfortunate news. We will need our community's support of our students in the days ahead."

Dorway was Mayo's principal from 2007 to 2010, according to the P-B.

The Strib reports Dorway shares legal custody of his three children with his ex-wife. At the time of their divorce in 2014, the children ranged in age from 12-17.

An investigation into the case remains active.
