Grant money available for first-time events in downtown Rochester

Grant money available for first-time events in downtown Rochester

Planning a new downtown event? The RDA may help pay for it.

The Rochester Downtown Alliance is accepting grant requests for up to $3,000 for first-time events that celebrate arts and culture. All events must take place in the 44-block district serviced by the RDA.

All applications received by May 13 will be reviewed by the RDA Downtown Cultural Initiatives Committee. Decisions on which events have been selected will be made by May 26.

The RDA handed out $8,500 in "stART-UP" grants in 2016 for events ranging from a jazz festival to a poetry slam.
