Twisted Barrel fires up plans for a permanent restaurant space in Rochester

Twisted Barrel fires up plans for a permanent restaurant space in Rochester

Derrick Chapman's restaurant business has landed on the fairway.

Chapman, the owner of Twisted Barrel Wood Fired Pizza, announced Thursday night that he will be taking over the restaurant space at Soldiers Field Golf Course in Rochester. If all goes to plan, the new restaurant will open sometime next month.

While the restaurant will focus on pizza, it will also offer burgers, wraps and some other healthier options. Chapman plans to continue operating the food trailer, mostly for private events.

"Thanks to all of our fans for the past couple years," Chapman said in a live video on Facebook. "You guys have all exceeded our expectations ... and we're taking the next step."

Chapman first started the food trailer a few years back after successfully raising a Kickstarter campaign.
