Outdoor activity trailer designed with winter in mind

Outdoor activity trailer designed with winter in mind

Staying active in the winter requires creativity and the right equipment — both of which can be found in the new “Thrive Outside” activity trailer.

The trailer, which was unveiled this past weekend, is a project of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2021-22 Leadership Greater Rochester cohort. It features an array of outdoor winter equipment, including sleds, snowshoes, broomball sets, and a portable fire pit.

The group says by expanding access to resources for outdoor activities, the trailer will work to promote social, mental, and physical wellbeing, particularly in underserved communities.

Reservations for the Thrive Outside trailer will be available through Rochester Parks and Rec at no cost beginning in the 2022-23 winter.

More information on the project, along with other mobile recreation units operated by Parks and Rec, can be found on the city’s website.
