Crime beat: Police searching for man involved in gas station robbbery
Local authorities are asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect responsible for a robbery and assault over the weekend in northwest Rochester.
The robbery happened around 2:20 a.m. Saturday at the Holiday gas station, located at 919 37th Street NW. According to the police report, a male suspect jumped over the counter and began beating the clerk.
He then grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and ran away.
The victim, a 58-year-old man, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His face was bloodied and bruised, notes the report.
Surveillance images from the scene indicate the suspect may have been carrying a box cutter. However, authorities are not certain he was armed.
The suspect is described as a black male, mid 20s, about 6', with a slender face. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a red or orange Air Jordan logo. He wore a pink garment to cover the bottom portion of his face.
Surveillance images may be released later in the day.
Woman arrested for domestic assault
A Rochester woman faces a felony charge for second-degree assault after she allegedly stabbed a man during a domestic dispute Sunday night.
Police responded to the 1600 block of 4th Street NW around 10 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a 33-year-old old man who had been stabbed. A portion of his arm was sliced down to the bone, according to the report.
Jeannette Weber, 27, was arrested at the scene. She is accused of stabbing the male victim following a disagreement over intimacy issues.
Weber was frustrated that the couple was not having enough sex, says the report. Both individuals had been drinking prior to the incident.
Tennessee assault suspect arrested
A Tennessee man accused of raping and stabbing a woman at a Knoxville motel was recently arrested in Olmsted County.
Deputies from the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office located David Gary, 47, last Wednesday in a home at 11429 Mill Creek Road SE in Orion Township. He was arrested without incident.
Local authorities received a tip earlier in the day from police in Knoxville regarding Gary's whereabouts. According to the sheriff's office, he had an active arrest warrant for attempted first-degree murder.
