Chance for free beer: Help Forager Brewery can fresh veggies and fruit

Forager Brewery is looking for volunteers to help can, pickle and ferment fresh veggies and fruit so they can be used in its menu this winter.

The brewpub is offering free beer for everyone (21+) who helps out.

"We have such an abundance of amazing foods in southeast Minnesota and would like to preserve them for everyone to enjoy in the colder months," says restaurant co-owner Annie Henderson.

Forager's chefs will be on site to lead the process. Seasoned experts are encouraged to share any secrets to help make the effort a success.

New to canning? Come down and learn more about the techniques.

The event is scheduled for August 20 from 1-4 p.m. In addition to beer for the adults, free ice cream will be available for the little helpers.

RSVP on Forager's Facebook event page.
