Politico ranks Minnesota and New Hampshire as the best states in America
(THE MED CITY) - Minnesota has moved into a tie with New Hampshire atop Politico Magazine's second annual ranking of the best states in the U.S.
The report says improvements in employment, infant mortality and the obesity rate helped Minnesota make the jump up from last year's second place finish.
Minnesota finished in the top five in half of the 14 factors used for the study, including home ownership and high school graduation rates.
Iowa (#7) was the only other Midwest state to finish in the top 10. Mississippi finished at the bottom of the list for the second straight year.
