Multiple city oversight positions up for grabs — any takers?

Mayor Ardell Brede put out a call on Wednesday for Rochester residents interested in filling several open positions on citizen oversight committees.

Here's the list:

  • Citizens Advisory on Transit
  • Energy Commission
  • Heritage Preservation Commission
  • Library Board
  • Planning and Zoning Commission
  • Rochester Public Utilities Board

The mayor is responsible for interviewing candidates and submitting his choices to the city council. Each committee generally meets once a month and is responsible for making recommendations to both city staff and council members.

The deadline for submitting an application for the aforementioned positions in Wednesday, Oct. 28. Citizens residing in Rochester can pick up an application at city hall or fill one out online.
