Update: Police release surveillance photos from weekend robbery

Local authorities are asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect responsible for a robbery and assault over the weekend in northwest Rochester.

The robbery happened around 2:20 a.m. Saturday at the Holiday gas station, located at 919 37th Street NW. According to the police report, a male suspect jumped over the counter and began beating the clerk.

He then grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and ran away.

The victim, a 58-year-old man, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His face was bloodied and bruised, notes the report.

Surveillance images from the scene indicate the suspect may have been carrying a box cutter. However, authorities are not certain he was armed.

The suspect is described as a black male, mid 20s, about 6', with a slender face. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a red or orange Air Jordan logo. He wore a pink garment to cover the bottom portion of his face.

Although the suspect’s face is concealed, authorities are hoping his unique clothing may stand out. The hooded sweatshirt worn by the suspect was recovered along the suspect’s route of escape (shown below).
