MNsure extends enrollment period for some customers

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A special enrollment period began Tuesday morning for all Minnesotans who were "in line" to enroll for coverage but were unable to complete the process before the Feb. 15 deadline.

"In line" is defined as anyone who took any of the following steps with the MNsure system:

  • Submitted a paper application before February 15
  • Submitted a manual identity proofing request on or before February 15
  • Created an account, or
  • Filled out/submitted an application but didn’t complete an enrollment

The special enrollment period runs through Friday at 5 p.m. for consumers who created an account at MNsure.org and for consumers who submitted an application but did not complete enrollment.

“I want to assure Minnesotans who took any of these steps of one clear message—if you were in the process of enrolling, we’ll work with you to get into coverage,” said CEO Scott Leitz, according to a news release. “A small number of consumers may have encountered issues that made enrolling challenging over the weekend, and MNsure is taking action to ensure everyone gets the coverage they need.”

Customers who were unable to finish their application process should contact MNsure customer service at (855) 366-7873.
