(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Chester Woods Park in Eyota has started accepting reservations for its one and only camper cabin.

Construction on the building began last summer and was completed over the winter. The cabin can sleep up to six people and is handicap accessible, according the park's website.

The project was led by Troy Helget of Sentenced to Service, a program that allows detainees from the Olmsted County Department of Corrections to perform work in the community in exchange for reduced sentences.

"From the construction of the floor and walls, placing of the rafters, roofing and siding the cabin, building the ADA ramp and finishing off the beautiful pine interior and cedar porch, the exceptional work was done with pride," said naturalist Celeste Lewis, in a recently-published newsletter by Chester Woods.

The cabin can be rented from the third weekend of May through the second weekend of October. The cost is $60 per night (min. two nights, max. 10).

Cooking stoves and personal heaters are not allowed inside the cabin. Electrical outlets can, though, be used for things like toasters and coffee pots. All pets must remain outside the building.
