Jun 2 Child suffers minor injuries in NW Rochester bicycle accident

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A 5-year-old girl was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a bicycle accident Monday night.

The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of West River Parkway and Ninth Avenue NW. According to the fire department, a driver struck the girl with the vehicle's side mirror.

The driver told officials that her vision was obstructed by the sun.

The girl, who was riding with her brother and sister, was transported to the hospital by Gold Cross. She's expected to be OK.
