Rochester is giving a "Salute to the 4th" with a block party at Silver Lake Park.

The event, hosted by The Commission, runs from 3 p.m. to midnight and features a car and motorcycle show, skateboard and BMX contest, kids boot camp sponsored by the Med City Freeze, food trucks and live music.

The fireworks begin shortly after 10 p.m.

All of the events are free and open to the public. You can learn more about the second annual Salute to the 4th celebration here.
