Fundraiser planned for small business destroyed in weekend fire

Fundraiser planned for small business destroyed in weekend fire

Community and business leaders are coming together to support a small business that was destroyed in a fire over the weekend.

A fundraiser for Werkstatt 533 auto service is being planned for Saturday, May 6 in the Cooke Park Design District. The event will include a concert and car show. Additional details are still being worked out. Those interested in attending are encouraged to follow the event's Facebook page for future updates.

The fire, which began late Friday night, caused an estimated $700,000 in damage, including the loss of the building and several luxury cars. An investigation into the cause of the fire remains active. Adjacent businesses suffered only minor damage.

Owner Dave Colestock opened the 9,500 square-foot shop in 2015. The business specialized in German and other European vehicles.
