Mayo Clinic holds on to No. 1 ranking for fifth straight year

Mayo Clinic has once again been named the country’s best hospital by U.S. News & World Report.

The Rochester campus also continued its streak by ranking first in more specialty areas — six in all, including gynecology and urology — than any other medical center in the 2020-21 rankings.

In addition to its Rochester presence, Mayo’s campuses in Arizona and Florida also finished atop the lists in their respective states.

"To be ranked the No. 1 hospital in the nation for five years consecutively is a testament to the excellence of our remarkable staff, who put our patients' needs first — even, and especially, during a pandemic," said Dr. Gianrico Farrugia, Mayo president and CEO.

Earlier this year, Mayo in Rochester was selected by Newsweek as not only the best hospital in the country — but the best in the world. It was the second consecutive year the publication awarded Mayo the top honor.
